Love Letter from John Ruskin to Euphemia Gray
~~~~~ November 11, 1847
When we are alone - You and I - together - Mais - c'est inconceivable
- I was just trying - this evening after dinner - to imagine our
sitting after dinner at Keswick - vous et moi... I couldn't do it -
it seemed so impossible that I should ever get you all to myself - I
shall not be able to speak a word - I shall be running round you - and
kneeling to you and holding up my hands to you as Dinah does her paws
- speechless - I shan't do it so well as Dinah though - I shall be
clumsy and mute - at once perfectly oppressed with delight - if you
speak to me I shall not know what you say - you will have to pat me -
and point to something for me to fetch and carry for you - or make me
lie down on a rug and be quiet - or send me out of the room until I
promise to be a good dog; and when you let me in again - I shall be
worse - what shall I do?
John Ruskin to Euphemia Gray
~~~~~~~~~~

Most of us might not go as far as the famous Mr. Ruskin,
but most of us can do as well
or better, truly sharing positive emotions and
their motivation

This one said it for us,
when we were in our twenties!

It is never impossible to "get real" and celebrate life!"

The poems at this page, from a range of eras, show how the heart of America was developed so fortunately!

ALTHOUGH I CONQUER ALL THE EARTH

Although I conquer all the earth.
Yet for me there is only one city.
In that city there is for me only one house;
And in that house, one room only;
And in that room, a bed.
And one woman sleeps there,
The shining joy and jewel of all my kingdom.

ANONYMOUS, Ancient India

I think this one is from "Fiddler On The Roof", but it is a favorite of mine...

The sweetest sound in all the world
Is still inside my head
The finest words I'll ever speak
Are waiting to be said
The most entrancing sight of all
Is yet for me to see
And the dearest love in all the world
Is waiting somewhere for me.........
Is waiting somewhere.....
somewhere for me!

This one fed my girldreams, many years ago...from Bing Crosby's Christmas Music...

You're all I want for Christmas!
All I want my whole life through!
Each day is just like Christmas,
Every time that I'm with you!

You're all I want for Christmas!
And if all my dreams come true,
Then I'll awake on Christmas morning
And find my stocking filled with you! ....and find my stocking filled with you!

SANTA BABY,
I'M WELL AWARE I'M JUST A BRUNETTE, AND YET..........

my line from the glamorous christmas fantasy from Eartha Kitt
Madonna re-recorded it in 1987, I have just learned...whatever...it's great fun!
written by J. Javits and P. Springer ~originally sung by Ertha Kitt ~Time: 2:30
Santa Baby

Santa baby, slip a sable under the tree, for me
I've been an awful good girl
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Santa baby, an out-of-space convertible too, light blue
I'll wait up for you dear
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Think of all the fun I've missed
Think of all the fellas that I haven't kissed
Next year I could be oh so good
If you'd check off my Christmas list
Boo doo bee doo

Santa honey, I wanna yacht and really that's
Not a lot
I've been an angel all year
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Santa cutie, there's one thing I really do need, the deed
To a platinum mine
Santa cutie, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Santa baby, I'm filling my stocking with a duplex, and checks
Sign your 'X' on the line
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Come and trim my Christmas tree
With some decorations bought at Tiffany's
I really do believe in you
Let's see if you believe in me
Boo doo bee doo

Santa baby, forgot to mention one little thing, a ring
I don't mean a phone
Santa baby, and hurry down the chimney tonight

Hurry down the chimney tonight
Hurry down the chimney tonight

and whatever happened to the superboystar, Jimmy Boyd,
who made the Top of the Charts with this one?

I saw Mommy kissing Santa Claus
Underneath the mistletoe last night!
she didn't see me creep
down the stairs to have a peek
she thought that I was tucked up
in my bedroom fast asleep

But I saw Mommy tickle Santa Claus
Underneath his beard so snowy-white

What a laugh it would have been,
If Daddy had only seen
Mommy kissing Santa Claus Last Night

Below is an exerpt of new work I have enjoyed sharing with friends. I am thinking about developing it professionally...
a personalized page/present for special occasions.

A HAPPY GOLDEN WEDDING ANNIVERSARY !

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
to
Mr.& Mrs.Millennium
Fifty years ago is a long time!
Today it seems like a moment!
With each changing life phase,
Life together is renewed and different,
In a fortunate marriage, both dance to life's changing tune, still able to be partners!
What a miracle!
These are quotes from a book of poems published by the Metropolitan Museum of Art, they are good people food...
all the fun, none of the guilt!
I hope you like them!
Dedication for your Anniversary, or a toast of a sort:
QUATRAIN
What is this day with two suns in the sky?
Day unlike other days,
With a great voice giving it to the planet,
Here it is, enamored beings, your day!
- Jalal-ud-din-Rumi,Persian, 1207-1273
ANNIVERSARY ON THE ISLAND
The long waves glide in through the afternoon
while we watch from the island
from the cool shadow under the trees where the long ridge
a fold in the skirt of the mountain
runs down to the end of the headland
day after day we wake to the island
the light rises through the drops on the leaves
and we remember like birds where we are
night after night we touch the dark island
that once we set out for
and lie still at last with the island in our arms
hearing the leaves and the breathing shore
there are no years any more
only the one mountain
and on all sides the sea that brought us
-W.S.Merwin, American b.1927
