The goal of "An Elle Fagan Artsite" is to share a fine arts experience, accessible to many, and more easily than ever, because of the miracle of the internet. All aspects of your visit to my site are important to me. I hope you feel you can visit the site in with pleasure, without purchase pressure, and return from time to time to visit the latest work and upgrades here. And I am delighted to share the following information with you, if you have interest in making a purchase. ~~~ Payment and Shipping Payment is generally made at time of sale, before delivery. When larger amounts of cash are involved, Escrow can hold cash to provide extra protection, by arrangement , at time of sale. Shipping costs and basic insurance are included in sales price, unless special shipping or insurance is required. In this case, buyer and seller will agree in advance on methods and costs. I prefer PayPal for safe funds transfer, and charge cards payments route through PayPal to me; Checks and money orders are fine, but must wait for them to clear before I can ship. Art is shipped by a variety of rates and providers, depending on the commonsense needs of the individual piece of artwork, and the preferences of the Buyer. At delivery: Buyer is asked to send an acknowledgment, that the work has reached the buyer safely, and that the buyer is pleased. Please be sure to ask about anything unclear before shipping. Though most issues are covered by the transaction path, your understanding and peace of mind are important to a successful Transaction, and happy Buyer and Seller. ~ Escrow for Large Purchases Escrow.com and other forms of Security are available for Large Purchases. Here is how it works: At time of sale, Buyer places the sales price, as agreed-upon, in an escrow account. At this point, neither Buyer nor Seller can access the funds. With the assurance that the payment has been made, per notice from escrow, Seller Ships the Art. Upon receipt, inspection and satisfaction with the item, Buyer releases the funds in escrow to Seller. If the Art is unsatisfactory, payment remains in escrow, again inacessible to Seller and Buyer. Upon return of the Art, Seller notifies escrow, and Buyer receives the return of Payment from escrow. I like escrow, since peace of mind and pleasure and security are optimal using escrow for large purchases, especially in Cyberspace transactions, which can feel one bit too "virtual" for calm. However, this adds escrow fees to the sales expenses, and prior agreement on this issue must be reached between Buyer and Seller, at time of sale. This is why it is normally used for larger purchases only. Some online arts agencies perform the function of escrow agent, and this works , too. ~~~~~ Original art Each piece of artwork is original art, unless otherwise stated. If you like an image that is listed as not available to you, we can discuss an original version or variation on it...your unique picture, but of the same typed or style, or medium...one that does not violate any rules of copyright or permissions, or create client conflict. Sales & Clearance Items: Statistics say that a lovely collection of original art, showing for sale, may only result in a very small percentage of actual sales at first showing. This means that there must be more sales projects and types to share a reasonable number of the good works. And so the invention of special sales is helpful. I charge a price that covers our expenses in time and shipping and a treat, for the pleasure of sharing another nice artwork, and the sale is, of course, a nice quiet ad for my art, as well, and so worth it to Seller as well as Buyer. Some of these are routinely available at the Artsite Store. Such items and offers are often "negotiable"...ask me. However, Some of my Art are works of images that are not permitted to be sold without express Release by some third party. For example: images like the State Seal at the "Hartford" page. I was required to get special permissions for display only, and any use or reproduction of it, in any form would take special legal process with state Permissions people to achieve, and costs added to the normal price of the art, to reflect the extra work. The same holds true of the Tolkien "Lord of the Rings" images, at "Arwen's Work". ~~~~~~~ When your artwork arrives: I have never sold a picture without being sure that both myself and the buyer were pleased, with the art, costs and all other conditions associated with the sale. If at any time before, during or after the sale, you discover a problem with it, please know that I guarantee my work, and am available to make corrections and, in some cases, changes or replacements to the work. Work is normally shipped in a "working mat", arts-packaged for safety. However, Framing and other Presentation options are available, at time of sale. If you purchase the work framed,it will arrive with hanging hardware appropriate to it, attached. Study the painting from all sides and at every angle. This is the best time to note and correct problems, and get easy answers to questions. If you purchase the work unframed:At first sight, may look odd, too casual and too dark, too small. This is normal. Framing usually solves the problem. If you are not pleased with it, again, please contact with me, and we will resolve. Important: Watercolor almost always fades slightly, like patina and aging in other arts media, it is considered part of its beauty, which is why I try to finish the work one shade darker than the desired finished hue. It is also why it is recommended that the art be hung out of direct sunlight, and away from temperature extremes or dampness. If the art is a recently completed piece, it will appear darker and lighten slightly within the first year. It has been my experience that the colors seem to lighten up to a point and then stop. If, by some chance, the slight lightening develops into serious fading, contact me. I have made, and am happy to make repairs/corrections, in this rare instance, and your insurance will often cover costs. ~~~~~~~~ If you have never purchased fine art, you may have misgivings about getting into it. Fear not! It is much less difficult than you might think. The purchase experience is, traditionally, supposed to be part of the pleasure of owning original art. When you buy my art, you should be able to view the work happily, for a very long time to come, without a qualm, remembering happily, the conditions of sale. The art is yours at purchase: to share it, gift it, or resell it, and get a satisfactory price at resale. I have won nice points for efforts to keep fine art "fine online", including site construction and image locks to protect them from casual use or misuse. I trained in html for the site construction and the html is my work, too. I like very much to share viewing of my images online, even after sale. However, if Buyer prefers that the image, once purchased, no longer be viewable to site visitors, this is, of course, possible. With this in mind, please know that I like to keep my general price rules typical of the field, and periodically check them against the mainstream, to be sure that I am not veering off the mark in correctness. ART AND THE INTERNET: Online display distorts the image slightly; not usually all that much. When you recieive your artwork, if you are not pleased, think about it, and let me know...After your purchase, be sure to let me know your preference in sharing the image. I can: Returns are done cheerfully under fair circumstancesFor the serious buyer I can: I try to scan and display the work online as it will look when hung.In any event, with unframed artwork from this site, it is recommended to frame the work nicely, and hang out of direct sunlight, away from dampness or other climate extremes. I will repair a damaged work, but I charge a repair fee, unless the damage/error is mine. Insurance often covers such repair needs. This concept is helpful where the historic scenes are concerned, since an error or change in architectural detail may occur and should be spotted and corrected. Again, financial responsibility for the work and time in such a circumstance are judged individually, by commonsense rules, with a goal of grace in mind. Insure the work if loss, theft,damage or repair would make a significant financial impact, so that if conditions I cannot control affect the work, the insurance will pay for repair or replacement, by myself or another artist.
