This site is devoted to notes and essays in word and image, about the "Backbone of society", the family.
Blessed with two loving parents, who respected the personhood of a child, and still remembered to share good rules, I naturally looked for more of the same, as a child, discovering the world and people for the first time.
I did not need to look far. My Father was one of eight, and had seven Irish brothers, all of them living close enough for Sunday visits and amazing holidays. My Mother was one of twelve, and although only one lived nearby, they, too, were guests and hosts regularly enough for me to make the abstraction and grow up feeling immeasurably and invulnerably wrapped in love and limitless energy and plenty to share!
Later, all my romantic matches were scientifically inclined, as have been the times, since I reached adulthood, and when I was given a copy of the important "Family of Man", I should have realized it was a message from life to me...
This is how it is and how it will be....Citizens of the World, and all of us members of the universal family.
And so I thought this site might be an enlightening gift for our children, and entertaining,as well,
if it focused on the great work and love that motivated us, and them in turn.
