Honored to be the 2007 Artisan for Connecticut ~ White House State Easter Eggs Display
Resume and Arts Background
Resume Overview
I enjoy making art, and sharing it, and related arts tasks for events, restoration and marketing.
A prolific worklife is a delight, but the resume can become an unruly collection, so I do a focused resume for each project.
Only a part of relevant materials can appear here. I must count on interested visitors here, to contact me with
lots of good talk about specific interest in my work.
I am delighted to chat in email or phone or in person, as is convenient, and by written mail as need be. ~~~~elle

Skills List: Arts
Skills List: Technical
Special Note: My most valued training in some of the skills and arts came to me as a gift from mentors and mentor-esses in childhood and young adulthood... people aging and respected in their focus: nothing can compare to the purity and specialness of those times and lessons - the sort of foundation that is indestructable. I hope to have my interrupted work redeveloped so that I can be blessed to be the mentoress to individuals whose interest and skill are as sincere as mine.
A developing page about the lifelong commitment to arts focus; you are welcome to visit it at Arts Notes. The page also
contains some brief "port/left, starboard/right" basics about American Art, and miscellaneous notes. I plan to develop the page into an arts resource, probably with tutorials in some skills.

Rockville Downtown Association Offices - one-woman display
Rockville, Connecticut is honored to be a part of the Main Street Program and the
"Rockville Rennaissance" is just that! An exciting rebirth of the city, and the
activity hub and moving force centers at the Rockville Downtown Association, and
its Co-ordinator, Luise Ernest, is its angel! In co-operation with local government and Downtown Business, in a time when some places are losing business, RDA has been
gaining one new commercial enterprise per quarter, and enriching the experience for existing
stores with opportunities for upgrades in many ways. So I was honored to be invited to make a one-woman show displayed at the RDA office space last spring,
part of which is shown in the photo. Meant to share spirit more than high art,
it was fun for all, and a beginning of refreshing fine arts in the downtown area.

Update May 2004 ~ New show ! For five years, our Area has been enjoying a Renaissance, involving improvements on all Community levels, of top quality.
Part of the work has been upgrading district Fine Arts. And, after a great deal of work, paid and volunteer, on the part of many, including myself, there exists, for several months, a gallery bay for the show and sale of fine art by area artists, in the historic district. Each month features a different artist, in a one-person show, and throughout this month it is my turn! Report and photos soon !

One-Woman Show Savings Bank of Rockville Main Branch, Park Street May 1999
While recuperating at Elm Hill Manor, I found a convenient bank a block away, and when I told them my story,
they invited me to show the art, with the results as shown: Bank officer Lori Rosner was work partner on the job,
and is now at their operations center, and was lots of fun to work with! -elle |

American Flag Project at Amerbelle,Inc. Rockville,Connecticut
On my daily walk downtown,I passed the Amerbelle Textile Processing Plant, an historic site, the week everyone was placing flags to show American spirit. I had done some arts/civic work with their people so felt ok about remarking
to them that their flag, near the work area, was conspicuously soiled and thought they'd like to know. They were very happy that I told them,
and as we chatted, the obvious came to mind: Since Amerbelle processes weather-resistant fabric, making a huge American flag from their own materials,
and with their own people would be wonderful! The Amerbelle team got it done nearly instantly! It is hung prominently but discretely, and the flag is still there!
I have had my arts and words shared with the public all my life, but wonder if I will ever be involved in a prouder project! "Old Den Mothers never die...they just always know when Flag Day is!"
...June 14th, by the way! -elle

| one more from Vernon early days...I do little woodcarving but was trained in it, as part of the survey of arts skills, and was happy to participate in the project, motivated by the sensitive and active co-workers who commissioned the project. |
Please let me know that you have visited with a
note to: esfagan@ellefagan.com ..you are important to me!
I still believe that the arts represent some of the best of the human experience, and I never seem to tire of my individual "Pursuit of Excellence" - Wellcome Foundation Motto
